Note - Muslin fabric typically shrinks by about 5% after the first wash. 

Pre-washing is mandatory because muslin fabric gets softer with each wash. Use a mild and gentle hypoallergenic detergent. You can either use the gentle cycle on the machine or hand wash gently.
